Inigo joined the OMG team to work on in situ deformation of polycrystalline thin foil, with Ed Tarleton and Felix Hofmann. He used SEM based DIC, combined with EBSD mapping of initial grain orientations. Deformation patterns seen during in situ testing were then modelled using crystal plasticity FEA simulations.
He moved to the Materials Enginering group in Cambridge.
