2017-2022 DPhil Researcher
Diana's research was on micromechanical investigations of geological materials using methods central to OMG activities ie HR-EBSD, nanoindentation and micromechanical testing methods to probe properties of important geological minerals. She is a graduate of Department of Earth Science in Oxford where she was based. Her interests were with rock rheology and mineral physics, and how mechanical and microstructural properties of Earth Materials scale upwards and influence large scale geodynamic processes. A particular focus was developing a better understanding of the rheology of the upper mantle, especially olivine which is its main constituent.
Diana has moved to a research post KIT. Prolonged exposure to OMG has meant a move in subject area too as Diana is now fully in a material lab!
