2009-2013 DPhil Researcher
As a DPhil student in OMG, Jun worked with Angus Wilkinson and Ben Britton on fundamental aspects of deformation. The work focussed on using HR-EBSD to map distributions of stress and dislocation density relative to microstructural features, such as grain boundaries, triple junctions etc, in the material (Cu as a model FCC metal). This took our HR-EBSD work into much larger maps so that good statistics could be obtained. Datasets from monotonically deformed samples were so rich that experiments on fatigued material got squeezed from the thesis but did get published!
Jun is now in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Imperial College London, and runs a group within the Metal Forming theme.
