2018-2021 Research Fellow

2014-2018 DPhil Researcher

Jack's work focuses on understanding the damage caused in metals and alloys by irradiation with high energy particles.  In nuclear fusion and fission neutrons are the primary irradiating species but heavy ion and protons are experimentally attractive substitutes with which to study the effects.

Jack uses transmission electron microscopy methods to characterise and quantify the damage produced and comparing between irradiating particles.

Jack is now at the UKAEA - CCFE but we are very pleased he is an Academic Visitor with the department and we continue to collaborate on nuclear materials.
